Between 2000 and 2004 Thion began experimenting with colours and lines but also with new materials and subjects. In this gallery you can see 2 different projects that represents that: the Haiku paintings and the Sequined paintings. The I-KU project explores some of the themes that are most prominent in our lives - love, sex, religion, identity - by integrating visual images and Thion's own haiku poetry. (click no.1) The Sequined paintings is a small scale project where Thion replaces paint with very colourful and shining sequins to express the feeling of being in Love. (click no.2) The third group of paintings in this gallery are commission-based works during that time. (click no.3)
